This unit works by having a range of user selectable resistances, which are selected using a rotary dial. The leads from a multimeter, or insulation tester are placed into the receptacles on the box, and the resistance reading on the screen is compared to the known resistance on the calibration check box. This gives a definite indication of the accuracy and need to re-calibrate a variety of test instruments and finds uses not only on test benches, but as a device which can fit into a toolbox for checking of meters anywhere.
